Firenze, 28 novembre 2016 – Ricordando che il 29 novembre ricorreva l’anniversario della morte di Mark Strand (Brooklyn, 29 novembre 2014).
La luce che viene
Perfino così tardi avviene:
l’amore che arriva, la luce che viene.
Ti svegli e le candele si sono accese forse da sé,
le stelle accorrono, i sogni entrano a fiotti nel cuscino,
sprigionano caldi bouquet d’aria.
Perfino così tardi gli ossi del corpo splendono
e la polvere del domani s’incendia in respiro.

The Coming of Light
Even this late it happens:
the coming of love, the coming of light.
You wake and the candles are lit as if by themselves,
stars gather, dreams pour into your pillows,
sending up warm bouquets of air.
Even this late the bones of the body shine
and tomorrow’s dust flares into breath.
